We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Nice breakfast buffet (you can even prepare your own waffles at the weekend), good service. We had a lovely double room in the rear building which was very calm. The staff was very nice and helpful at any time.

It could have been a bit cleaner but it was ok so far. The double bed (two single beds put together as one) was also a bit tricky to sleep in.

proximity to metro is undoubtfully a plus. especially nice is the direct connection with schonefeld airport (direct metro line). the room itself is big in the hotel. but these are all about pluses

staff is not the most friendly one. if you are trying to find your way around, don't expect too much by asking the guys at the restaurant.overall, i must say, the hotel made some damn nice pictures to put on the website, the place looks much more shabby than what the impression is from the site. there is no phone in the room and you can hardly fit in what is supposed to be a bathroom - you have to jump over the toilett to get to the shower. the hotel is good for 'bed' purposes (not even a breakfast), but my feeling is that for a bed type of a hotel the prices are high

They do not have a reception and they close at midnight. If you are arriving late, remember to call and tell your arrival time. They will wait.

excellent location, nice part of the city with cafes and restaurants, very close to public transports. Prenzlauer Berg has character, it is a better choice than e.g. Mitte. definitely recommended! good buffet breakfast for excellent price of 5 EUR.

there was a lot of noise from the yard due to the movement of rubbish bins early in the morning - so if this is an issue for you, then it`s the only reason why you should not stay there!

Helpful staff, great breakfast, closeness to the S-Bahn and U-Bahn and to inexpensive restaurants and shops. Staff readily supplied a good packed lunch on the day we had to leave early for the airport. Both the bathroom and the bath were large and there was an efficient heated towel rail. Although the hotel is listed as recommended for gays in our travel guide we did not feel at all out of place as a heterosexual couple.

Our room was on the ground floor facing an inner courtyard of a building some 25 metres along the street from the Schall und Rauch cafe / breakfast room where we had checked in. Despite an intervening concrete wall, the collection of bins early on the Friday and Monday mornings was extremely noisy. (This probably would not be such a problem in other rooms or for early risers.) Secondly, had it been any colder, we would have needed some extra bedding.
